It’s well known that nobody wants to be a red shirt on Star Trek: The Original Series.
The red shirts were the members of Operations, Engineering, and Security, and are the space-expendables, the first line of defense.
The death rate for red shirt characters was 73%, for blue shirts it was 8% and for yellow shirts it was 10%. So, what does the math tell us? If you were wearing a red shirt on the original series of Star Trek, you character was the most likely to die.
